PEACE AND FLAMBÉ: An Art Happening , January
14, 2007
Peace and Flambé: An Art Happening. "It's not just
an art show, it's an adventure". This unique event will be filled with
art, music, and surprises, and it will showcase works by three world-renowned
artists: sculptor Lawrence Voytek, painter Michael
St. Amand and musician Kat Epple, who are
the vanguard of their respective media. These three long-time friends,
who will be premiering new artworks and re-visiting some of their classic
pieces, are collaboratively creating a transitory celebration of art,
peace, and volatility. This one-day-only innovative art incident, which
is sponsored by Northern Trust, is scheduled for Sunday,
January 14, 2007 at Salon Zenergy (Zazou
Building), Hibiscus Center 2950 Tamiami Trail North, Naples. Florida
There
will be a private reception from 3:00 - 6:00 PM and open to the
public from 6-8

Lawrence Voytek – Lawrence’s
work has inspired some of the lowest scumbags of this
century. Somehow the damaged brains seem to understand
this weird stuff, so if you go to see this work and
say to yourself, “What in Sam Hill is going on?” you’re
definitely not one of them. Someone who pretended to
be an art critic for the New York Times once asked
Lawrence, “Just exactly what do you think you’re
doing?” He replied, while pointing to the work, “This.” On
a more serious note, Voytek has been the director of
art production for Robert Rauschenberg for over twenty
years, and he has consulted for art installation, fabrication
and restoration with renowned national and international
museums and galleries. Lawrence's
work can be found in many important corporate and private
collections.

Michael St Amand - Michael St. Amand uses raw, vibrant
colors, fabric, photos and other found objects, geometric shapes and
expressionistic movement which allow his real and abstract subjects
to exist harmoniously within each piece. His themes range from religion,
nature and sexuality to fashion, politics and other current events.
Throughout the past 30 years, St. Amand has exhibited his work nationally
and internationally in Paris, Bordeaux, New Zealand, New York City,
Dallas, and Washington, D.C., as well as throughout Florida. His work
can also be found in corporate and private collections.

Grammy-nominated flautist and composer Kat Epple has performed at the
Guggenheim Museums, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National
Gallery. She has released 15 CDs of original music, and she also composes
and produces music for television, including "National Geographic", "Nova",
and "Guiding Light". Kat also travels throughout the world, collecting
flutes from other cultures and featuring them in her original compositions.
